Iraq suicide bomber kills eight

A suicide bomber has killed eight people in an attack on Iraqi soldiers collecting their pay cheques at a bank in the western city of Haditha.

The bomber walked up to a crowd of Iraqi army personnel outside the bank, said police.

Six soldiers and two civilians were killed in the attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility but al-Qaida in Iraq often targets security personnel.
