Two die as US soldiers targeted at German airport

Two people have died after shots were fired at a bus carrying US soldiers at Frankfurt airport.

An airport spokesman said the shooting “near or on” the bus took place in front of Terminal 2 at continental Europe’s second-biggest airport hub.

Police said the two dead were the bus driver and a passenger, and the gunman was arrested.

The US military has several major bases in the Frankfurt region, often used as a logistical hub for operations in Afghanistan or Iraq.
