US evacuation ferry reaches Malta
A ferry chartered by the US government has evacuated Americans and other foreigners out of Libya and arrived at the Mediterranean island of Malta.
The Maria Dolores ferry brought at least 167 US citizens and 118 other foreigners away from the turmoil in the North African nation.
The ferry had been stuck in the Libyan capital of Tripoli by rough seas for three days.
It left Tripoli’s port earlier today and arrived in Valletta, Malta, shortly before 8pm.
