The Medical Board of California has denied a proposed decision that would have allowed the fertility doctor who helped a woman give birth to octuplets to keep his licence.

Instead, the state's medical licence agency will decide at a meeting in May whether Dr Michael Kamrava will keep his licence or face other censure for allegedly providing substandard care to Nadya Suleman and two other patients.
