Student found dead after US school shooting
A suspect has died after a shooting at a high school in Omaha, Nebraska, police said.
Police officer Jake Bettin said the suspect was a student at Millard High School and his body was found in a car today after the shooting.
Two adults were wounded in the shooting and were taken to hospital. Their identities and conditions are not known.
Mr Bettin did not immediately provide more details about the suspect and how he died.
Police said the 17-year-old who opened fire in the high school fatally shot himself after leaving the school.
Omaha police Chief Alex Hayes identified the suspect at Robert Butler Jr. Mr Hayes said Butler was the son of an Omaha police detective.
Two adults were wounded in the shooting today at Millard South High School. Police said the victims are the school’s principal Curtis Case and vice principal Vicki Kasper.
Mr Hayes says Ms Kasper is in critical condition and Mr Case is in stable condition at an area hospital.
