Tornado death toll rises to seven

A Missouri woman has died of the injuries she suffered in a New Year’s Eve storm which spawned tornadoes and killed six other people in two states, US authorities said today.

Rolla Rural Fire Department chief Bruce Southard said the woman was seriously injured when a tornado destroyed her trailer near the south-east Missouri town of Rolla yesterday. She died in a hospital in Columbia this morning.
