US Senate expected to ratify new nuclear arms pact with Russia

The US Senate is expected to ratify a fresh nuclear arms pact with Russia this evening, giving President Barack Obama a huge foreign policy victory.

The New Start treaty replaces the previous one which expired more than a year ago.
