Ivory Coast leader sworn in despite vote row

Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo has been sworn in for a new term even though the UN and others say his opponent won the recent election.

Today’s ceremony came just a day after one of Mr Gbagbo’s allies went on state television to overturn previously announced results which showed the opposition leader had won.
