Hunt for man after girl, 13, raped

A 13-year-old girl was raped in a car park after she accepted a lift from a man as she walked along a street, police in Britain said.

The girl was in Northumberland Avenue, Reading, Berkshire, when a man stopped by her in a small black car.

She accepted his invitation to get inside and he drove through the town to Tilehurst, four miles away. In a small unknown car park, he raped the girl inside the vehicle.

Detectives from Thames Valley Police described it as “horrific experience” for the girl as they appealed for the public’s help in tracing the rapist.

Officers called on anyone who may have seen the car some time between 3.30pm and 4.30pm on Tuesday to contact them.
