Thatcher to leave hospital

Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher will leave hospital today after spending nearly two weeks recovering from a bout of flu, her spokesman said.

The former prime minister was admitted to the Cromwell Hospital in west London on October 20 for tests after failing to shake off the illness.

It also forced her to pull out of a Downing Street reception to mark her 85th birthday the previous week.

The spokesman said she had now been given the all-clear by doctors.
