Sea lion attacks NZ rowers

A sea lion attacked a college rowing boat in New Zealand, smashing into the hull twice and chasing the panicked crew to shore.

The University of Otago crew was about 650 feet offshore near the South Island city of Dunedin when the creature suddenly rushed up under the boat and smashed itself into the hull twice, leaving two holes.

And after the crew pulled the boat from the water, the sea lion came back for one last inspection. “It walked up the ramp and gave us a bit of a snarl,” rower Adam Garden told the Otago Daily Times.
