France warns of high terror risk in Britain

France is warning its citizens visiting the UK of a high terrorism risk.

A message posted on the foreign ministry’s web site says British authorities believe “the risk of an attack is very likely”.

It recommends that travellers in Britain exercise “extreme vigilance in public transport and busy tourist sites.”

The message was dated late last night.

France and many other European nations have stepped up terrorism alert vigilance amid what has been described as an abstract though heightened threat.

Earlier this week, the British Foreign Office warned travellers to France and Germany of a high terror threat.

The US State Department also advised American citizens living or travelling in Europe to take more precautions.
