Kidnapped Jaycee spared pre-trial ordeal

Jaycee Dugard, the girl held prisoner in California for 18 years, will be spared from giving pre-trial evidence against her alleged captors.

A grand jury indicted Phillip and Nancy Garrido on 18 charges each, including kidnapping and rape, plus multiple special allegations, in a process that eliminates the need for a preliminary hearing where their alleged victim may have had to take the witness stand.
