Tsunami alert lifted after Indonesia earthquake

A powerful earthquake struck in the sea off eastern Indonesia today, prompting officials to briefly trigger a tsunami warning.

The US Geological Survey said the 7.2 magnitude quake off Papua province was centred just 13 miles (20km) beneath the ocean floor.
