Medvedev arrives in China for energy talks
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arrived in China today for talks with leaders, amid growing energy co-operation between the neighbours.
The Russian leader arrived in the north eastern port city of Dalian and was to visit a war memorial and meet Chinese and Russian veterans as well as local leaders, China’s official Xinhua News Agency said.
Medvedev was to arrive in Beijing later today ahead of meetings with Premier Wen Jiabao and Wu Bangguo, chairman of China’s National People’s Congress, tomorrow.
No agenda has been provided for Medvedev’s three-day visit but China and Russia have expanded energy co-operation in recent months.
