At least one dead in German shooting spree

A woman opened fire in a hospital in Germany’s Black Forest today, killing at least one person and wounding several others, before fatally shooting herself, German officials said.

Police in the town of Loerrach confirmed that a shooting had taken place at the Elisbethen hospital, in south-western Germany, but did not elaborate.

State police in Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Wuerttemberg state where Loerrach is located, told the dapd new agency that a woman had opened fire in the hospital, killing one person and wounding two others, before killing herself.

They said there was no immediate motive for the shooting.
