Giuliani's daughter escapes shoplifting trial

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s daughter Caroline is likely to get her shoplifting case dismissed with a day of community service after a judge today accepted an offer to resolve it.

The case against the 21-year-old – accused of taking about $100 of makeup from an upmarket shop – was adjourned pending dismissal following a prosecution request.
