Striking South Africa civil servants were today offered a higher pay deal to end their action which has crippled hospitals and schools across the country.

Striking South Africa civil servants were today offered a higher pay deal to end their action which has crippled hospitals and schools across the country.

The government said it was increasing its offer from 7 to 7.5% with a better housing allowance. The strikers want 8.6%.
