British shoppers are being asked by the police today to hand back hundreds of pounds in cash which was thrown in the air by a bank robber as he made his escape.

At 10.20am yesterday, a man entered the Barclays Bank in Jewry Street, Winchester, Hampshire, and threatened staff, who handed over £1,600 (€1,941).
