Thailand’s prime minister lifted a state of emergency in three provinces but is keeping the decree in place in Bangkok and six other provinces.

Tawin Pleansri, head of the National Security Council, said today the emergency rule was lifted in the northern provinces of Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and north-eastern Ubon Ratchathani.
