US approves new 'morning-after pill'

Health officials in the US have approved a new, longer lasting 'morning-after pill'.

The prescription drug, called ella, is made by French company HRA Pharma.

It is effective for up to five days after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.

The drug is already available in Europe.
