FBI investigate suspicious substance at Israeli Embassy

US authorities are investigating an envelope with a white powdery substance found at the Israeli Embassy in north-west Washington.

Embassy spokesman Jonathan Peled said the FBI took the envelope, which was addressed to the embassy rather than to an individual.

Washington DC fire and EMS department spokesman Pete Piringer said hazardous material teams were conducting tests.
