UK mother denies murdering her children in blaze
A mother in the UK wept in court today as she denied murdering her two children in a fire at their family home.
Fiona Adams (aged 23) pleaded not guilty to the murder of Niamh, five, and two-year-old Cayden, who died in the blaze in Buxton, Derbyshire, in April.
She escaped from the house in Edale Way by jumping from an upstairs window with her eight-month-old son, Kiernan, just before midnight on April 23.
Wearing black trousers, a black vest and grey cardigan, she cried into a tissue during the 10-minute hearing at Nottingham Crown Court.
She also denied causing grievous bodily harm to Kiernan and a fourth charge of arson with intent to endanger life.
She was remanded into custody. A three-week trial is due to start on January 31 next year.
