Afghan bus crash kills 26
More than 20 people were killed when a speeding bus overturned in Afghanistan today.
It ran off the road in Daman district south of Kandahar city just after dawn.
Along with 26 killed there were two people injured.
Meanwhile in the east Afghan commandos retook a remote but volatile area of Nuristan province that has changed between government hands and insurgents multiple times in recent months.
They dropped into Barg-e-Matal district from helicopters and recaptured the area.
Insurgents set fire to the district headquarters building before fleeing.
