Fraud-complaints probe delays Guinea's election

Guinea’s run-off election to choose the country’s next president has been delayed to August 1 because the country’s supreme court says it needs more time to probe fraud complaints.

The second round had originally been scheduled for July 18.

According to preliminary results from the June 27 first round, former prime minister Cellou Dalein Diallo garnered about nearly 40% of votes cast, compared with just over 20% for long-time opposition politician Alpha Conde.
