India: 23 killed in bus crash

An overcrowded bus has collided head-on with a truck in eastern India today, killing 23 people and injuring 15 others, police said.

Police officer Amit Jain says the bus driver apparently lost control of the vehicle along a sharp curve on a highway near Dhannarua, a village in Bihar state.
