US general McChrystal set for Obama showdown over interview

The US’s Afghanistan war commander General Stanley McChrystal has been called to the White House after President Barack Obama rebuked him for “poor judgement” and considered whether to fire him.

It is the most extraordinary airing of US military-civilian tensions since Harry Truman stripped Gen Douglas MacArthur of his command half a century ago.
