Venables charged with downloading child pornography

One of the killers of toddler James Bulger has been charged with downloading child pornography.

John Venables had been on release under licence, but was brought back to prison earlier this year.

A judge at the Old Bailey this evening lifted some media restrictions on the case, allowing the charge to be reported.
