Up to one million people are now caught up in the crisis in Kyrgyzstan.

Violent clashes there have killed up to 2,000 people while 400,000 have been displaced and moved to squalid camps on Kyrgyzstan's border with Uzbekistan.

The UN has issued a flash appeal for funding for those affected.

Violence erupted there on June 10 with mainly Uzbek households being targeted and entire neighbourhoods burned to the ground.
