Suspected US strike kills 13 in Pakistan

A suspected US missile strike has killed 13 people in a Pakistani tribal region, officials said today.

A roadside bomb aimed at police elsewhere in the country’s volatile north west killed a civilian and wounded eight people.

The missile, apparently fired from a drone, struck a house in Haider Khel village near North Waziristan’s Mir Ali town, said two intelligence officials.

They initially said three were killed, but local government official Noor Mohammad said later the toll was at least 13.
