BP chief executive Tony Hayward was accused of "stonewalling" and refusing to discuss questionable drilling practices that led up to the catastrophic Gulf Coast oil spill when he faced US lawmakers today.

BP chief executive Tony Hayward was accused of "stonewalling" and refusing to discuss questionable drilling practices that led up to the catastrophic Gulf Coast oil spill when he faced US lawmakers today.

Appearing for the first time before Congress, Mr Hayward insisted at a House hearing that BP makes safety a high priority.
