Indian Ocean tsunami alert issued

A tsunami warning was issued when an earthquake measuring magnitude-7.5 was reported in the Indian Ocean west of India’s Nicobar Islands.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre in Hawaii initially issued a tsunami watch for the region, but later reduced the watch area to India only, then cancelled the warning. There were no reports of damage or injury.
