A former supervisor of the French bank trader who cost his employers billions, told a court today that bosses must have been aware of the wayward deals.

Benoit Tailleu – who ran the Societe Generale trading desk where Jerome Kerviel worked but left before the scandal – said Kerviel’s direct superiors “could not totally ignore” his activities. “That is certain. It is obvious.”
