Grandfather chased killer cabbie

A motorist told how he risked his life chasing gunman Derrick Bird during his shooting spree as details emerged of dramatic early efforts to catch the mass killer.

Paul Goodwin, 48, said the crazed cabbie first shot fellow taxi driver Darren Rewcastle in Whitehaven before driving off and returning to target other drivers at the Duke Street rank.
