BP oil cap collecting 'quarter to half' of leaking oil

A cap placed by BP over the leaking Gulf of Mexico oil well is collecting tens of thousands of gallons of escaping crude, US officials said today.

The cap, resembling an upside-down funnel, has already captured at least 252,000 gallons of oil, according to Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen.
