Suicide bomber hits Afghan peace conference

Security forces battled insurgents at a national peace conference in the Afghan capital today, including at least one suicide bomber who blew himself up.

A Nato spokesman said several insurgents were shot near the venue in Kabul, and Afghan police said a suicide bomber detonated explosives, killing himself.
