Iraq market blast death toll rises to 30

The death toll in a car bombing at an open-air market in a Shiite town north east of Baghdad has risen to 30, Iraqi police and morgue officials said.

Yesterday’s bomb struck the town of Khalis, a Shiite enclave 50 miles north of Baghdad in the largely Sunni province of Diyala.
