Afghan blast toll rises to 12
The Afghan government said at least 12 people were killed in a suicide car bombing in the capital today.
Police said five of the dead in the incident in Kabul were foreigners.
The interior ministry said that all 12 killed were civilians, with 47 other civilians wounded.
The government added that most of the casualties came from a public bus that was hit by the explosion.
Kabul deputy police chief Mohammad Khalil Dastyar said that five of the dead were foreigners, but did not give details on their nationalities.
He said 17 vehicles were damaged in the morning blast in western Kabul, which officials previously said appeared to be targeting US vehicles.
