Airport police find circuits in passenger's shoes
Police in Pakistan were today investigating a passenger arrested at Karachi airport after security staff found electric circuits hidden in his shoes.
Airport security force spokesman Munir Ahmed said Faiz Mohammad, who was about to fly to Oman, was taken away by police last night after authorities found circuits connected to batteries in the soles of his new tennis shoes.
No explosives or detonators were found.
Mr Ahmed said Mohammad told investigators he bought the shoes at a market in Karachi and had no idea there were circuits hidden inside the soles.
