Taliban chief 'survived' US missile attack

A Pakistani Taliban leader thought to have been killed in a US missile strike earlier this year is now believed to have survived, an intelligence official said today.

US and Pakistani officials had been relatively confident that Hakimullah Mehsud died in the January attack.
