Man pleads guilty to New York subway bomb plot

A man accused of plotting to bomb the New York subway told a court today he had been ordered to carry out the attacks by al-Qaida leaders.

Prosecutors say the foiled attacks were modelled on the London underground bombings in July 2005, when four suicide bombers killed 52 people and themselves.
