A US Navy special forces soldier was cleared today of taking part in the abuse of an Iraqi prisoner who masterminded a lethal attack on private security guards.

Julio Huertas, 28, was the first of three Navy SEALs to go on trial at a military court in Iraq for the alleged assault.
