Thai protests shift to shopping district
Thai troops cleared the wreckage of armoured carriers today as anti-government protesters left the site of last week’s bloody clashes in favour of an up-market shopping district to intensify their campaign to oust the prime minister.
The Red Shirt protesters claim their new encampment in the Rajprasong shopping area, several miles from their old camp in Phan Fa, Bangkok, will be the final battlefront in their bid to have parliament dissolved and new elections held.
