Catholic Church to further examine motivations of potential priests

The Catholic Church is to undertake further steps to probe the "motivations" of those seeking to join the priesthood, it has emerged.

A questionnaire is this week being sent to all of last year's seminary entrants.

The Church is insisting this latest move is not been taken to weed out paedophile priests.

It says it is to check the "spiritual motivations" of those wanting to join the priesthood.
