Obama’s attend Easter service after shootings
President Barack Obama and his family today attended Easter service at a historically black Methodist church in south-east Washington.
Joining Obama at the service at the Allen Chapel AME Church were his wife, Michelle, daughters Sasha and Malia, and his mother-in-law, Marian Robinson. Also attending were the mayor of Washington, Adrian Fenty, and his wife.
South-east Washington was rocked last week by a drive-by shooting that left four dead and five others wounded.
Pastor Michael Bell says it was providence that the President would attend service at Allen Chapel AME Church so shortly after the shootings.
The Pastor said it was heartening to know that south-east Washington had not been forgotten.
