31 killed as Taliban attack army checkpoint

Pakistani troops repulsed a Taliban attack on a checkpoint close to the Afghan border today in fighting that killed six soldiers and 25 insurgents, the military said.

The attack occurred in the Bara area of Khyber, a tribal region home to a main supply route for troops across the border.
