US and Russia 'on verge of nuclear arms pact'

Russia and US are on the verge of agreeing an historic new nuclear arms reduction treaty, senior sources said today.

President Barack Obama and President Dmitry Medvedev will try to settle the last outstanding issues in a phone conversation today, a highly-placed Russian official said.
