Former UK ministers suspended over lobbying claims

Three former UK cabinet ministers have been suspended by the Labour Party over allegations they were prepared to use their position to influence government policy for cash.

A party statement released last night confirmed that the action was taken against Stephen Byers, Geoff Hoon and Patricia Hewitt pending a full investigation into the claims.
