Belgian dispute could hit beer supplies

Supplies of Belgium’s favourite beers like Stella Artois and Leffe could start drying up next week.

Unions have blockaded the AB Inbev breweries for a week to protest at plans to cut 263 of 2,700 jobs at the world’s biggest brewer’sheadquarters.

The HoReCa group of restaurant and bar owners said they still had ample supplies to keep going.

A spokeswoman for the Delhaize chain said it was “not impossible” to start having problems with some supplies of mass consumption beers from next week.
