UK woman arrested in connection with baby killing

A British woman has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of an 11-month-old baby, police said today.

The child, who has not been identified, who was found dead at a flat in George Stephenson Way, North Shields, North Tyneside, on New Year’s Day.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.”

Inquiries into the death are continuing.
